The star Oliver Brix and I
A Interview With
Oliver Brix
Dental Technician, Germany
Oliver Brix explains why he believes in using the products from the IPS e.max range.
Mr. Brix, if you could travel through time, what would be more appealing to you, the past or the future?
As far as my private life is concerned, I would like to travel to the past now and again, but professionally, the future within a time period of around 10 years from now would be very intriguing.
In your work you keep up with the times and rely on the quality of IPS e.max. Why?
After having worked and gathered considerable experience with previous all-ceramic materials for more than 14 years, I have found that the IPS e.max system combines all the important experiences and innovations. The system provides absolute application flexibility along with outstanding reliability.
Which product of the IPS e.max range do you like to use best and why?
My favorite product is the IPS e.max Press MO 0 ingot, which I use for crown copings. Its fluorescence and brightness are ideal for mimicking the natural appearance of teeth in this respect. For onlays and partial crowns I definitely like to use the IPS e.max Press HT ingot best. It displays outstanding strength, homogeneity and shade behaviour, which makes it ideal for my needs.
What, in your opinion, is the future of all-ceramics, particularly of IPS e.max?
All-ceramics have a great future and will replace other restorative materials used, such as metal. I personally fabricate more than 95 percent of all crown and bridge restorations with components of the IPS e.max system.
